BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,11TH SEPT 2017-The Kenya national union of Nurses have officially launched a week of demonstration aimed at pushing for implementation of their collective Bargaining agreement.
The nurses who have been on the strike for close to three months now have been demanding for implementation of their CBA agreed upon by the council of governors and the salaries and remuneration commission SRC.
Acting KNUN Maurice Opetu says they will not be intimidated by threats issued by the council of governors to sack them should they fail to return to work.
Addressing the press at the Uhuru park Nairobi on Monday,Opetu said no amount of arm twisting from governors and government will convince them to resume work unless the full CBA is implemented.”Nurses will not be intimidated we must be honest and sincere to ourselves nurses are not rejects”he said.
The nurses also presented their petition to the office of the council of governors in westlands Nairobi.
