BY DPPS/KORIR JUMA,10TH SEPT 2017-A section of MPs from the Kamba community have said Nasa candidate Raila Odinga was destined to lose the repeat presidential elections in October 17. They cautioned voters from the region not to be misled to support Mr Odinga who would lose.
The legislators among them Victor Munyaka (Machakos Town), Rachel Nyamai (Kitui South), Vincent Musyoka (Mwala), Fabian Muli (Kangundo), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu) and former Kilome MP Regina Ndambuki told residents from the region to vote wisely come October 17. The leaders said Jubilee in just four years has shown concern in helping the Kamba community through initiation of projects that have direct impact on the lives of the people compared to previous governments that those now in Opposition were part of.
Addressing a public rally at Kimutwa market attended by Deputy President William Ruto, the leaders said they were confident that President Uhuru Kenyatta will win by a bigger margin when the presidential repeat polls are held next month. “The Kamba community will benefit more in terms of development projects if its voters support the reelection of President Kenyatta when elections are held next month,” said Mr Munyaka.
Mr Munyaka said his constituency has benefitted in terms of development from the time he abandoned the Opposition to work with Jubilee, saying the establishment of Machakos University that now accommodates 10,000 students has greatly improved the economic situation of the region.
The Deputy President thanked the Kamba community for electing some Jubilee leaders from the region besides voting for President Kenyatta in large numbers during the August 8 as compared to the 2013 General Election
