BY CORRESPONDENT,HOMABAY,8TH SEPT 2017-Police have begun investigations into the cause of fire that razed down a section of the office of Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti Thursday evening .Property of unknown value were also destroyed.
Addressing the press on Friday Morning governor Awiti has assured the residents that the incident will not deter him and other officials in their quest to serve the people. A few of those who witnessed spoke to UPESINEWS.CO.KE saying three people suspected to have caused the incident drove into the compound at 11.30 pm and parked the vehicle at the gate before sneaking in to the compound carrying a jerrican of petrol.They are said to have proceeded to procurement and finance departments offices setting them on fire before driving off.
Homa Bay OCPD Esau Ochorokodi confirmed that they are detaining the suspect who is expected to help them in conducting investigation.
The vehicle lost control at the junction near the stadium and two people managed to escape while one was arrested by the motorcyclists who were following them.
