BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI,7TH SEPT 2017-The Memo purported to have been sent to IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba by the chair Wafula Chebukati asking for clarification on some key areas on Management of August 8 elections which has been doing round on social media has started raising questions that seek answers. The national Super Alliance NASA principals led by Raila Odinga have said the MEMO vindicates them since most of the demands raised by CHEBUKATI in the MEMO were the same raised by NASA in their petition that challenged president Kenyatta’s win.12 points memo seen by UPESINEWS.CO.KE seeks clarification on most of issues raised by NASA’s petition.
Among the issues which Chebukati seeks answers are Failure of transmission of electronic images from some polling stations during relaying of results from poling stations to the national tallying center at the Bomas.
Also Chebukati wants to know why some voters in more than 10 thousands poling stations were allowed to vote manually among others. While in the same polling stations there were no forms 34As which means the results were not valid.
In the Memo sent on 5th of September,Chebukati also want to know why results in 682 poling stations were not valid.
Addressing the press in Nairobi ,NASA leaders Raila Odinga,Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangulasay they will not participate in the fresh elections slated for October 17th if all issues that need to be put in order by IEBC are not fully addressed.
Odinga said all other races were also affected by the malpractices that were witnessed during the August 8th elections as explained by NASA. He has said that the electoral commisison is supposed to ensure that all those people who messed up the exercise were brought to book.”This memo now vindicates what we have always said.that Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto are vifaranga vya komputa”.said Odinga. According to Odinga some elections forms were printed on Mombasa road as confirmed by the said Memo and this is just one of the serious that were in their petition that was filed at the supreme court.
Odinga insists that there must be total clean up of the commission before a new elections is held.
