BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,7TH SEPT 2017-The latest move by former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar to resign as Wiper Secretary General in could just point to how all is not well in the most prominent political outfit in Ukambani region.His decision comes even as the party tries to recollect itself after massive walkout emanating from nominations exercise that did not go down well with some of its members.
In his letter, Hassan indicated that: “circumstances as pertains to the steps I wish to take to seek electoral justice as indeed was your quest in the Supreme Court as NASA, the reorganization of my politics, if at all and my endeavours towards scholarship, personal development and repositioning the discourse for social justice and accountability in Mombasa and the Coast region through non-state actors makes my position as Secretary General untenable.”
UPESINEWS.CO.KE has however established that his decision may have been largely contributed the party’s leader Kalonzo Musyoka who was seen largely as having supported the Mombasa governor Hassan Joho.
Hassan did not however reveal his next step after quitting Wiper Party.
Hassan who unsuccessfully vied for the Mombasa governor’s seat in the August 8 poll has officially submitted his resignation letter to party leader Kalonzo Musyoka saying that he will not take part in NASA campaigns for the repeat presidential election slated for the next month.
The former Mombasa Senator has, however, not revealed his next step after quitting Wiper Party.
