BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI, 4TH SEPT 2017-The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has announced that the Kitutu Chache South Parliamentary election will be held on November 7.
The IEBC has set aside Thursday and Friday as days when it’s Returning Officer will clear the Jubilee Party candidate.
“Disputes relating to or arising from the nomination shall be determined within ten (10) days of the lodging of the dispute with the Commission,” Wafula stated.
The Commission will also allow candidates from other parties including immediate former MP Richard Onyonka (FORD-Kenya) and Samuel Omwando (ODM) who had been cleared prior to the August 8 to verify their details and documents.
Chebukati said the campaign period for the by-election will commence on Thursday and cease on November 5.
“Political parties and Independent candidates shall appoint and submit to the Commission the names of their Chief Elections Agents to the Commission on or before October 23,” read the Kenya Gazette Notice.
The Bogichora Ward poll was equally postponed following the death of MCA contender Onsomu Okebiro (Jubilee Party) after a short illness.
