BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,4TH SEPT 2017-With 57 days remaining to the second round of election The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission is today (Monday 4th Sept ) holding a meeting with a view of charting the way forward following the nullification of the August 8 presidential poll.
The Commission has been in the limelight since the nullification of the presidential results last Friday with various stakeholders in the to be held election to announce fresh election date The national Super alliance is on its’ part calling for total overhaul of the entire commission.
The opposition claim the public has lost confidence in the commission after presiding over a flawed exercise.
Commission Chairman Wafula Chebukati has said they would be making changes to their personnel and processes in response to the Supreme Court’s findings that the August 8 presidential poll was compromised by irregularities and illegalities on the part of IEBC.
this comes as the Supreme Court awaits to give their detailed judgement to guide in the planning of the fresh poll.The judgement is expected to be out in the next 17 days.
