Uhuru meets elected Jubilee leaders,strategies on aggressive campaigns

BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,2ND SEPT 2017-President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday 1st Sept met Jubilee elected Governors,senators and MCAs  at state house Nairobi in a move to re-design the campaigns strategy ahead of the second round of elections slated for 1st November.The president said  Jubilee party was ready to go back to the people  and seek votes.He has expressed confidence that Jubilee will win the coming elections.Uhuru also said that there was a big problem at the Judiciary that needed to be fixed.”We have a problem at the Judiciary and we will fix it” he said.

He also emphasized that Jubilee was a peace loving party and that he will not support anything that could hurt Kenyans. The president further warned the judiciary not to take the silence from their party  that followed the ruling that overturned his victory for granted saying that it is because they are peace loving Kenyans.”Jubilee is a national party. Jubilee believes in peace, and we have, and will maintain peace”he said.

The president was categorical that it is only the independent Electoral and boundaries commission IEBC that is mandated to preside over the elections telling off the opposition which has said that the next election can not be managed by the current IEBC as constituted .”Results for Governors were transmitted and accepted, results for Senators were transmitted and accepted….Kenya is the 1st country in the world where 4 decided to overturn the will of 15m who woke up early, queued for hours and voted peacefully”he said.

Addressing the press on Friday after the supreme court ruling which overturned Uhuru’s victory,NASA Leaders Raila Odinga called for a total overhaul of the current commissioners of the commission saying they have no ability to preside over a free and fair poll.
