Dr Ekuru Aukot applies to be enjoined in NASA’s petition challenging President Kenyatta’s re-election

BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI,21ST AUG 2017-Third Way  alliance presidential candidate  Dr Ekuru Aukot has applied to be  enjoined in NASA’s petition challenging President Kenyatta’s re-election 11 days after conceding defeat.Ekuru had conceded defeat  and asked NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga to also follow suit. Speaking during a press briefing at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi on August 10, Aukot said he was satisfied with the way the election was conducted and has seen nothing that can warrant disputing the presidential outcome.

“Kenya needs to move on and continue with their daily struggles. It is evident that IEBC put enough measures to ensure the electoral process was smooth,” he said.

“Our party has made peace with the system and we respect the final outcome. From our party, this election is considered over. Let us celebrate our diversity as a people. We will continue to advise the IEBC in the quest to conduct truly free and fair elections.”

However a week later he renegaded   on his previous stand saying he had realized  numerous mistake and errors committed by the election commission in conducting the elections  a move that could have largely affected results credibility.
