BY CORRESPONDENT,MACHAKOS,17TH AUG 2017-Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Matua and his deputy Francis Maliti have been sworn in to serve for the next five years.Mutua will serve his last term as governor as per the constitution.
Speaking after he was sworn in at the event held at the Kenyatta stadium on Thursday 17th August.
Dr Mutua urged all other elected leaders in the county to join him in working for Machakos people.Mutua criticized his opponents for waging unnecessary war on him and his leadership in the last five years and greatly hampering his efforts to develop the county.
He has promised to ignore those who plans to be a hindrance as he embarks on his last term ,that he will not pay any attention to them.This comes even as Dr Mutua’s main challenger in the just concluded elections Wavinya Ndeti plans to go to court to challenge Mtua’s victory.
Mutua got a total of 238,405 votes against Wavinya’s 199,257.
