Fewer cases of electoral malpractices reported as kenyans casts the ballot

BY EURIDICE NZIOKA/SAMSON MBII,NAIROBI,8TH AUG 2017-Thousands of voters started flocking the poll stations as early as 2am Tuesday 8th to vote  as kenya decides.UPESINEWS.CO.KE has established that the process is largely peaceful and with very few security issues reported.
The independent Electoral and boundaries Commission IEBC however had to sack two of its Presiding officers for three   polling centers in Nairobi after the voting exercise delayed.The three are  in Westlands, Embakasi East and Kasarani .The officers have  since replaced by IEBC . In Greenspan, Donholm in Embakasi East constituency voting was yet to start as we went to press at 10 am.
Cases of malpractices have been reported also in Mombasa and Kitui.In Kitui county IEBC returning officer seconded to the county was caught dishing out money to voters in favour of a certain candidate.The official was arrested and will be arraigned in court Wednesday to answer to charges of  voter bribery.In Changamwe Mombasa IEBC officer was caught giving voters more ballot papers than it is expected.He has also been arrested.
