Developing story:Kenyatta takes an early lead with Odinga second as votes counting gets underway

BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,8TH AUG 2017– As at  6:20pm  Tuesday 8th August, the incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee party was leading   having taken an early lead with  904,477 representing 57% of votes casts while the national super Alliance candidate Raila Odinga was second with 656,293 votes which represents 41% of total votes casts.

44,357 votes have been rejected.while 177 votes are being contested.

It is still early though to say who will carry the day considering that the location of votes counted has not been revealed.UPESINEWS.CO.KE can report authoritatively that some bigger portion of results are still to come with some polling stations in several parts of the country still voting.
