Kenya gets a new ferry as MV Jambo arrives in Mombasa

BY EURIDICE NZIOKA/CORRESPONDENT,3RD AUG 2017– New  ferry MV Jambo has arrived at the port of Mombasa.The new ferry arrived on Thursday Afternoon and was received by kenya ferry services management and officials from the ministry of transport.

The vessels was purchased from Turkey at a cost of Sh1.9 billion.

According to Kenya ferry services Mv. Jambo  has  of  carrying capacity  62 cars and 1500 passengers.

MV Jambo was received by Passengers at Likoni channel .

The new ferry, MV Jambo, will greatly ease movement of people goods and vehicle across the Likoni channel

Unlike the current ferries, the new ones will also have toilets for passengers

MV jambo will improve the lives of 300,000 people using the ferris daily
