IEBC now asks government to accord all IEBC staff enough security after Murder of ICT Manager

BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI, 31ST JUST ,2017-The independent Electoral and boundaries Commission wants government to accord all IEBC staff enough security for them to carry out their duties through the August 8 Elections.Addressing the press on Monday 31st July afternoon at the City Mortuary IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati has asked the government to do whatever possible to unravel the reason behind   the murder of  the commission’s ICT manager Chris Msando .”It is obvious that Chris was Murdered but why and by who?”  asked Chebukati.

The body of the deceased bore the marks of strangulation and also a broken hand meaning that he  may have been tortured.

IEBC ICT Manager the late Chris Msando his body was found at the City mortuary on 31st July 2017.

Chebukati has also assured the country that Musando has left behind a trained team at the IEBC which is capable of handling the upcoming polls.

The commission has also postponed the  mock voting exercise on the elections that was to take place on Monday 31st at the Bomas of Kenya with the aim of testing the voting kits.Chebukati  saying a new date will be  announced for the same exercise.

The body of the late Chris Msando has been moved to the lee mortuary.
