BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,30TH JULY 2017-The aimed attacker who raided into DP William Ruto rural home in Sugoi on Saturday 29th July has been killed.Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett says police managed to gun the assailant down around 9 am Sunday.
By Sunday morning, gun shots could still be heard in the home nearly 18 hours after it was raided by unknown assailant.
Sources told UPESINEWS.CO.KE that he was killed after the Recce police officers threw grenades through out the night at the armory where the lone assailant had been taking refuge . A police man was injured on Saturday when the assailant stormed into the home of the deputy president in Uasin Gishu County.
DP Ruto spent the night at the Sugoi home before leaving Saturday around 11am to accompany President Uhuru Kenyatta for a series of rallies. He attended rallies in Trans Nzoia and Kericho.
The attacker ambushed a GSU guard manning the gate around 1pm.
Police say DP’s wife Rachel Ruto and children were not at home at the time of the attack.
