BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,22ND JULY 2017-Police are holding Laikipia North MP Matthew Lempurkel  once again,  after he was arrested on Saturday  22nd July afternoon  for allegedly making inciteful remarks during a National Super Alliance rally .The detectives from Nanyuki police station arrested the vocal member of parliament  just after  he had  recorded a statement  at the same sttaion claiming his life is in danger.

Laikipia Central OCPD Ben Changulo  who confirmed the arrest told journalists  that Lempurkel will remain in police custody until Monday when he will be arraigned in a Nanyuki court on incitement to violence charges.

He  said that Lempurkel has been on the run since July 20 when he made the inciting remarks at Maralal.

According to Segera ward MCA aspirant Yoakim Kulalu, Matthew was arrested a few minutes after recording his statement at the station and later transferred to Naro Moru Police Station in Kieni constituency.

Kulalu who is vying on an ODM ticket said that they don’t understand why he was transferred to Naro Moru yet he was arrested in Nanyuki.

”On further inquiry, he said that he is being transferred from Nanyuki to Naro Moru, I really don’t know why and what transpired,” Kulalu stated.

 Lempurkel is alleged to have made the inciting remarks at Mowuarak area in Sossian ward during a campaign rally that was led by NASA principal Raila Odinga.
