BY UPESI NEWS CORRESPONDENT,22ND JULY 2017-Jubilee rally in Mandera ended pre maturely on Saturday, July 22 after Chaos broke out when rival supporters of Jubilee party and Economic Freedom Party (EFP) clashed . President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are touring Mandera and Wajir counties to drum up support for Jubilee party ahead of August 8 elections.
The rival supporters of Mandera governor aspirants hurled stones at each other forcing police officers to shoot in the air to disperse the rowdy crowd.
Supporters of Jubilee’s Governor Ali Roba clashed with supporters of the EFP candidate chosen by area elders during the noon incident.
President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto were set to tour several areas in the region to drum up support for Jubilee candidates and for the party with only 16 days to August 8 general elections.
