BY NAMULONGO PETER/CORRESPONDENT,21ST JULY 2017-Just days after President Uhuru Kenyatta vowed stern action against politicians inciting Kenyans to violence,Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has been arrested.Junet was arrested Friday Morning after he was accused of propagating hate speech and incitement .The outspoken ODM lawmaker was taken to Homa Bay Police Station, where he was to record a statement.
UPESINEWS.CO.KE has also learned that Plans are also under way for the member of parliament to be taken to court Friday to answer to the charges.
The words the member of parliament is said to have uttered remain unknown with police saying they will make it public soonest.
However Homa Bay Criminal Investigations chief Joseph Tuksho said the MP would be arraigned in court immediately.
As the country draws near to the August 8 general elections,the arrest of the member of parliament is an indication of how serious concerned institutions including the national Cohesion and integration commission NCIC are in taming the vice.
