BY KORIR JUMA/CORRESPONDENT,20TH JULY 2017-Former minister and politician Nicolas Kipyetor Biwott was laid to rest at his Chebior home in Elgeyo Marakwet Keyio south constituency on Thursday 20 July. In a ceremony attended by president Uhuru Kenyatta,deputy president William Ruto several cabinet secretaries among other mourners the late Biwott continued to receive praise with all those who spoke saying he was a humble and peaceful man.
Addressing the mourners Baringo senator Gideon Moi who also presented his father’s massage the retired president moi said the late Biwott was not only a family friend to the moi’s but also to many other people who personally knew him.
His grandson Emanuel Biwott remembered him as a man who was also interested in issues affecting the youth “Believe me, he was a very, very interesting man. He always wanted to know what the youth had to say,” he said.
President Kenyatta said just as he was a man of peace Kenyans should unite together in peace and make sure the coming elections were held in peace. The call for peace by president Kenyatta was also echoed by Deputy president William Ruto.
President Kenyatta and his deputy also vowed to protect the late Biwott’s property,urging the family not to worry.
Concerning past accusations leveled against the late politicians ,the president and his deputy termed them untrue.
