JOHN WERU,NAIROBI,14TH JULY,2017-It is a big relieve for Motorists across the country after the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) announced a marginal drop in fuel prices for the second month in a row.
The price of Super Petrol has been reduced by Ksh 1.64 per litre in Nairobi, Diesel by Ksh 2.43 per litre and Kerosene by Ksh 2.48 per litre in the capital starting midnight tonight for the next one month.
ERC Acting Director General, Robert Oimeke, has attributed the decline to the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene, which decreased last month.
A litre of Super Petrol will now retail at Ksh 97.10 per litre in the city, that of Diesel will retail at Ksh 84.46 per litre while a litre of Kerosene will now retail at Ksh 62.56.
Oiemeke also said the strengthening of the Kenyan Shilling also led to the marginal drop. The new pump prices takes effect from midnight and will remain in place until 14th of next month.
