BY EURIDICE NZIOKA/CORRESPONDENT,14TH JULY 2017-Laikipia senator the late GG kariuki was laid to rest at his Rumuruti Laikipia west home in Laikipia county on Friday 14th July.President Uhuru Kenyatta,deputy president William Ruto ,first lady Margret ,senators and other leaders in his send off service.All speakers who spoke at the event terming the late senator as a peace loving person. Senators who got an opportunity to address the gathering spoke of a man they knew as a big brother and a wise person who whenever they needed a word of wisdom from him he was always available to offer.
In the eulogy read at the event it was revealed that the late senator was not only a peace loving person but also demonstrated in actions by giving his property to the less fortunate.The senator is reported to have donated close to over 60,000 acres of land towards construction of various projects including churches and schools to benefit locals.

While paying his tribute to the senator president Uhuru Kenyatta said GG karuiki was never intimidated by competition that is why he went on and got PHD and had successful political carrier.He said he was keen on growing leadership.On his side deputy president said tha late senator was a tremendous Kenyan. ”The history of Kenya is incomplete without mentioning G.G Kariuki”.he said.

The national assembly speaker Justine Muturi said the late senator has demonstrated good leadership qualities and inspired greatly especially the upcoming politicians .” With advice from people like G.G Kariuki we have found a lot of leadership qualities to emulate”said Muturi.
Baringo senator Gideon Moi said One thing that always touched what touched him so much about the senator was his ability to cut across all people irrespective of what tribe they belonged to.Others who paid their tribute to the senator was Tharaka-Nithi Senator Kindiki Kithure who said he demonstrated high sense of responsibility and respected every body whom he came into contact with.
The late senator died two weeks ago in Nairobi after suffering from heart illness.
