BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI,13TH JULY 2017-Family, Friends and government officials were among those who attended memorial service for the late Laikipia senator GG Karuiki at the St Andrews church in Nairobi Thursday 13th July.
During the service those in attendance were informed the senator had been suffering from a heart decease which saw him treated in various hospitals locally and abroad before he passed away.
In the eulogy read during the service it state that he had a cardiovascular condition, which he discovered 18 months ago.
His condition deteriorated after a hip replacement operation and he was treated in South Africa, the UK and Nairobi Hospital, where he died on June 29.
The veteran politician had served under all the four past governments.
He will be laid to rest in his Laikipia home on Friday 14th July 2017.
A memorial service for the late Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery will also be held on Thursday afternoon ahead of the Saturday burial at his Bissil home in Kajiado.
Nkaiserry’s memorial service will be at the Baptist church In Nairobi.
