BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,8TH JULY 2017-Interior Security CS Joseph Nkaissery who passed away Saturday Morning at the age of 68 has had a long successful track record as a civil servant having worked in various capacities in government and outside.
UPESINEWS.CO.KE can report that he was a successful servant having succeeded in every area he served in.
He joined politics in 2002 when he retired from the military at the rank of Major General, having served for 29 years.
He was then elected Member of Parliament in 2007, and was later appointed Assistant Minister for Internal Security by former President Mwai Kibaki in 2008-2013.ln 2014 he resigned as a member of parliament for Kajiado Central to take up President Uhuru Kenyatta’s appointment as Interior Cabinet Secretary replacing Joseph Ole Lenku who was unceremoniously dismissed in the wake of increased insecurity in the country.
Before joining politics, Nkaissery served in the Kenya Defence Forces, rising to the rank of major-general in the Kenya Army. He also served as a commandant of the Armed Forces Training College. He retired in December 2002 after 29 years of military service.
He was also coalition member of Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) from 2013-2014. He was first elected Member of Parliament on an ODM ticket in Kenyan general election, 2007 before being re-elected on the same party ticket in 2013.
