BY PSCU/JOHN WERU,7TH JULY 2017-President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto on Friday 7th attended a Church service organized by the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya to pray for peace in Kenya.
The prayer service held at Uhuru Park was also attended by two other Presidential candidates, Ekuru Aukot (Thirdway Alliance Kenya) and Prof Michael Wainaina (independent).
During the prayer service, led by Bishop Dr Mark Kariuki ,representatives of many Churches and their followers, President Kenyatta read a pledge promising to promote peace before, during and after the election.
“I Uhuru Kenyatta being a Kenyan citizen do hereby pledge to be a peaceful person, to promote and maintain peace, during the campaigns, the elections and after the elections. I will use all the power at my disposal to ensure that true peace reigns in this Nation. Oh help me God to fulfill this solemn vow.
Blessed are the Peace Makers for they shall be called the children of God,” said the President in the pledge.

Meanwhile the National Super Alliance on the other hand held its prayers at the OKOA KENYA offices in Nairobi before proceeding to have a SABA SABA public rally at Kamukunji .The event was attended by all NASA Princiapls of Raila Odinga,Kalonzo Musyoka,Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi.
