BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,6TH JULY 2017-Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has dropped a mother of all announcement saying he will be going for presidency come the year 2022.Mutua who made the announcement on Thursaday 6th July in Nairobi says he has arrived at the decission after extensive deliberation and consultation.
Mutua says the decision has been informed by advise given to him by the elders in Kamba region and by large the Maendeleo Chap Chap supporters.Mutua Made the announcement during the unveiling of his Gubernatorial manifesto for the Machakos race in the August 8th elections. The announcement by Mutua now stirs the waters in the already overcrowded 2020 politics considering how many people are already making plans to vie for presidency come that year.
It is overcrowded by the fact that deputy president Williamu Ruto has made it clear that he will be in the race for presidency,NASA’s Steven Kalonzo Musyoka has all the surpport of NASA to go for presidency in 2022.
In the larger North rift and the entire rift valley the Son of the retired president Daniel Moi Gideon Moi is largely seen as potential candidate for presidency come that time.Many other candidates are most likely to make their announcement of their intentions to also go for the big seat in 2022. It remains to be seen how just things will pan out to be going forward.
The Manifesto 2017-22
Turning to his Manifesto Dr Mutua says his government We will build 40 Youth Polytechnics Technical Skill Training Schools and setting aside Ksh40m for interest free table banking for the women. He also promised that Starting this September, all college student will be paid for their college fees at the rate of 100%, increase bursary fund from Ksh80m to Ksh.200m.
On employment Mutua Manifesto says they will focus more on creation of employment for youth and wealth creation targeting to.Create 250,000 new jobs by 2020.
Mutua says their Manifesto is a practical blueprint of the present & the future and is themed “Propelling Machakos County from the Third to First world”.
