BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI,30TH JUNE,2017-President Kenya is still leading in popularity among the 8 presidential candidates a head of August 8 polls.This is according to the latest results of a poll conducted by pollsters Infotrak .
According to the study, Uhuru’s popularity is at 48 per cent followed by the Opposition’s National Super Alliance candidate Raila Odinga who has 43 per cent approval ratings.Infotrak Chief Executive Officer Angela Ambitho says that they carried out the interviews in 29 counties where 2000 were involved in the research.“The findings are from a sample of 2,000 respondents from 29 counties across the country were interviewed between the 24 and 25 of June. The data was collected through household computer-assisted face to face interviews,” said Angela.
Abduba Dida of the Tunza Coalition was third in the poll findings with a 0.5 percent score, with Ekuru Aukot, Cyrus Jirongo, Joe Nyaga following with a 0.1 percent score each.
HEADED FOR THE WRONG DIRECTION
Ambitho also says that the findings indicated that 50 per cent of the respondents believe that the country is headed in the wrong direction while 45 percent think Kenya is headed in the right direction .
Four percent of the respondent don’t know whether the country is headed for wrong direction or no.
