BY UPESINEWS REPORTER,NAIROBI,25TH JUNE,2017-Confusion marked the end of Holy Month of Ramadhan Sunday 25th June after a section of Muslims joined their colleagues world wide in celebrating Eid-Ul Fitr amid warning from chief Kadhi Sheikh Ahmed Muhdhar that the moon is yet to be sighted.
Spot check by UPESINEWS.CO.KE in various parts of the country revealed that the Muslim faithful went on with celebrations .In Nairobi, Muslims gathered at the Sir Ali Muslim Club, with a section of the leaders accusing the Chief Kadhi of misleading Kenyans with his Saturday pronouncement.
“The moon was sighted in different parts of the country therefore the Chief Kadhi cannot run that office as if it his own office,” said Garissa Township MP Aden Duale.
On his part though Jamia Mosque cleric Sheikh Mohammed Swalifu asked Muslims to remain united.
In Garissa, Governor Nathif Jama led residents at the Retired General Mohamud Idd Grounds where the dominant message was peace during the August 8 General Election.
“We want to have the most peaceful elections in our country. Let’s vote peacefully,” said the governor.
The same scenario was witnessed in Kisumu,kakamega,Nyeri .Marsabit among other places.
