BY UPESINEWS CORRESPONDENT,MERU,24TH JUNE,2017-Normal operations on Meru-Maua highway were paralyzed for the better part of Saturady afternoon after agitated demonstrators protested about what they called hard economic times.
The demonstrators barricated the bussy highway burning old tyers and blocking the highway with huge stones.
They who spoke to upesinews on the condition of anonymity have lamented about the hash economic times and want the Jubilee government to addresse the situation as soon as possible.
The move occurs as president Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto campaigned in the county.UPESINEWS.CO.KE has established that demonstrators who are residents of the county who were expressing displeasure with the high cost of living and economic challenges they are facing.
Police officers were called in to calm the situation and bring harmony with some demonstrators vowing to continue with the same until their issues are addressed.
