BY SAMSON MBII,5TH JUNE,2017-Kenyan premier league side Tusker is out of of the Super Cup competition after going down in penalty shoot out against Yanga SC on Monday 5th June afternoon at Uhuru Stadium.
UPESINEWS.CO.KE reports that the woes facing the beer boys was as aresults of Stephen Owusu and Clifford Alwanga missing their respective opportunities to convert from the spot while Yanga converted their four shots succesfully.
Noah Wafula and Stephen Owusu used their chances as required scoring for the the Kenyan 2016 champions.
Allan Wanga was denied a penalty call after he was brought down in the box in the 18th minute in a game that started off with pace and midfield full of action.
The Kenyan champions had James Situma to thank when he made a quick clearance from a goal bound ball after Yanga launched surprise attack that almost got the Brewers defense napping. Abdul hassan took a shot from a long range but went way off the mark as both teams sought an opener in the first half.
Tusker could have paid for poor marking after they left a Yanga player have free header in the 55th minute from a corner conceded after sustained pressure from the home side attack.
Nsimbe made a double change by introducing Noah Wafula and Clifford Alwanga for Moses Ndawula and Michael Khamati in the 56th minute.
Wanga also had to fire over the bar in the 69th minute and that marked another super chance wasted for the Kenyan side.
