Raila,Kalonzo subit their papers to IEBC-UPESINEWS
BY EURIDICE NZIOKA,NAIROBI,28TH MAY 2017-Independent presidential candidate Joe Nyaga and his running mate Moses Marango have been given a second chance to return to the Independent Electoral and boundaries Commission On monday 29th May 2017 to resubmit their papers.This is after the duo presented their papers to the commission at the KICC Sunday only to be turned away after it was discovered that they did not meet the requirements as per the law.
IEBC found out that Nyaga had a cheque of ksh 250,000 instead of Ksh 200,000 with IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati instructing him to prepare a proper cheque bearing the exact amount before returning to the commission
.His running mate on the other hand had not certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal investigation ( DCI) he too was asked to acquire the important document and return to the commission.
Speaking to the press after the session with the IEBC commissioners Sunday afternoon Nyaga said he had no problem with being instructed to return to the commission Monday even though he was ready to go back even within 5 minutes since all the necessities are ready .
Earlier on in the day the Alliance for real change candidate Abduba Dida was almost turned back for almost similar reasons after his degree was found to be lacking authenticity signature.He was asked to have it fixed before returning to the IEBC commissioners.He was however cleared after having the hitch fixed.
The National Super Alliance Candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka were cleared.
They both expressed confidence that will win the presidency.They further asked IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati to ensure that the August 8th 2017 polls are conducted in a free fair manner so as to restore public confidence in the commission.
