Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Mike Mbuvi and DP William Ruto-FILE
BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI,17TH MAY 2017-Deputy president William Ruto says the along waited leadership for Nairobi county is now just two months a way.Speaking at the Jubilee party headquarters in Nairobi Wednesday during the unveiling of Polycarp Igathe as the running mate for gubernatorial aspirants Mike Sonko.
The deputy president expressed optimism that come August 8th 2017 voters in Nairobi will unite behind Sonko,Igathe candidature saying the tow had what it takes to bring about accountability leadership in the city.
On their part Mike Sonko and Igathe pledged to work together for a better,cleaner and secure Nairobi.They said if elected unto office they will ensure there is transparency in leadership and shun any corruption.
The unveiling of Igathe now puts in jeopardy the political fate of Jesus is Alive Ministries bishop Margret Wanjiru and Dagorret south member of parliament Denies Waweru who both have always been seen as potentail candidates to be Sonkos’ number two.
It remains to be seen whether the city politicians will keep their promise to stick together even after loosing in the nominations as they had earlier promised.
