Cheaper Unga yet to get into shops across the country

BY JOHN WERU,/CORRESPONDENT,17TH MAY 2017-Just a day after the good news announcement by government to lower drastically  the cost of maize meal,the same is yet to hit the supermarkets and shops across the country.

Spot check by upesinews.co.ke has established that most shops in the country are yet to receive the cheap flour.However in some counties a few retail shop operators have admited having received the cheap flour.In Eldoret in Uasin Gishu county some shops already started saling the cheap brand.

The  government on Tuesday  promised  kenyans that from today (Wednesday 127TH MAY 2017),there would be flour available in the shops at a cheaper price of Ksh 90 per 2kg packet.

The announcement reduced the cost  for 50% from ksh 180.
