The eye witness say the accident occurred after the bus, that was headed to Bungoma, Western Kenya tried  to overtake another vehicle, was hit from the side by a trailer before ramming into a second trailer.

Nakuru County Police Commander, Rashid Barua, said the bus belonging to Super Highway Coach was packed to capacity at the time of the accident.

The injured  are currently receiving treatment at St. Marys Hospital  most of them suffering from fractured limbs among other tissue injuries   while the bodies were removed to the same hospital’s mortuary.

The motorists on the busy high way have been asked to be careful especially while driving at night owing to many heavy vehicles that ply the road.  The busy highway has in the recent past witnessed the most worst accidents with massive number of causalities caused by overspending and overtaking at the wrong spots.
