Nominees to the East Africa legislative Assembly Causes a storm

BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,11TH MAY 2017– The nominees  to the  East Africa legislative Assembly fronted by several   political parties in the country have  elicited mixed reactions from a cross politiccal devide.The list of some parties in the National super Alliance NASA  has not gone down with some politicians  in Jubilee who claim the leadership of political parties under the coalition has nominated several of their friends and relatives to represent Kenya in EALA a move they say goes against the laid down procedure.
Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is among politicians who have come under sharp criticism for nominating his  son, Kennedy Musyoka .Raila Odinga also nominated his former aide Silas Jakakimba among others for the positions Kennedy Musyoka, Kalonzo Musyoka’s son has elicited sharp criticism .

He was among several nominees who were offered the lucrative jobs at the assembly. Majority Leader Aden Duale has sharply criticised Kalonzo’s move to nominate his son saying he will not allow formation of political dynasty in EALA. “The era of political dynasties is long gone and we as voters will not allow it back in this country,” he said.

Deputy president William Ruto also criticized the opposition for the move saying they can not unite kenyans after the move which he termed as a clear demonstration of nepotism.however Wiper party
‘s Farah Maalim defended the move to have Kalonzo son on the list saying he was voted in overwhelmingly be the party’s National Executive council which held its meeting at the party headquarters on Thursday.
