BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,10TH MAY 2017-Nairobi governor Dr Evans Kidero has received a major boost towards his re-election bid after the Ukambani elders endorsed him for another term.In an event held at a Nairobi hotel the elders comprising of business men and women,said the governor and his deputy Jonathan Mweke have done a commendable job and deserve a second tern to complete what they begun four years ago.The elders led by their chairman Sam Mumbi vowed to back Kidero’s re-election.
”We the elders from Kamba community are fully behind you and pledge to convince voters from our community to vote for you again in August 8th elections.”said Mumbi.
The Kamba elders also promised to help Kidero and Mweke to overcome any competition that they may encounter from their rival senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko who will be vying for the governor seat on Jubilee party ticket.
Kidero who will be facing Mike Sonko in the August 8th polls asked for their support him and his deputy so as they can complete some of the projects they have been working on. On his party the deputy governor applauded his boss for having appointed large number of proffessionals to the county hall from the Kamba community mentioning jut but a few health executive Bernard muia,head of inspectorate department Francis Munyambo,and chief planing officer Rose Mwema.
