BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,8TH MAY 2017-Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has announched that he will not be defending his senator seat in the August 8th polls. Addressing  a press conference at his home on Monday, May 8, Muthama  , cited  “micro-management” within the party as the major contributor to his unexpected  decision. Muthama’s decision  comes  just a day after  his deputy governor Bernard Kiala  was embarrassed hugely when he  lost in  the Wiper gubernatorial nominations former Kathiani member of parliament  Wavinya Ndeti.
In the repeat nominations conducted on Saturday, May 6, Ndeti garnered 227,947 votes against Kiala’s 4,508, a move   which was sharply criticized  by   Muthama . “It is unfortunate the manner in which wiper is been micro-managed to the disadvantage of some party members. My decision has been influenced by the way wiper affairs are been conducted.”  he said.
Muthama also clarified that he was still a Wiper Party Member, although he would support the party’s cause without contesting an elective post. “I am ready to sacrifice my bid and continue to serve people outside elective positions.” He said.. He also announced that he was ready to fully support the NASA Presidetial candidate unconditionally.
