Maendeleo Chap Chap supports president Uhuru re-election bid

BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI ,6TH MAY 2017-Maendeleo Chap Chap party  has  given its reassurance to back president Kenyatta’s re-election bid.This was confirmed on Saturday 6th may 2017  when the party’s  National Delegates conference    officially endorsed the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 General Election.

The delegates who included party leader Dr Alfred Mutua, said the party will not field a presidential candidate but will instead support President Kenyatta.

President Kenyatta who attended the meeting at the party headquarters in Lavington, said Chap Chap shares the same ideals as his Jubilee Party.

He pledged that his next government will share positions with Maendeleo Chap Chap party.

“I assure you Chap Chap delegates that we will form the next government together. We will embrace inclusivity,” said President Kenyatta.

The President enumerated his government’s achievements and urged the electorate to cast their votes for him come the polls.

“We are a party that believes in unity and development. Chap Chap is also a development oriented party,” said President Kenyatta.

The President said the country’s politics has in the past been anchored on tribalism and hate, adding this will be changed by his team.

“This kind of politics has no place in modern Kenya,” said President Kenyatta.

He hit out at the NASA coalition, which he said was driven by the pursuit of power and jobs.

He said his party was committed to the creation of jobs for millions of youths and improving the lives of the people.

“Our opponents are focussing on how to create jobs for four people. They are not concerned about the welfare of Kenyans,” said President Kenyatta.

He said his government will be inclusive and will bring on board all Kenyans.

Dr Mutua who led the delegates in swearing an integrity oath lauded President Kenyatta as a development conscious leader who should be re -elected.
