BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,2ND MAY 2017-Just a day after Nakuru governor Kinuthia Mbugua announced that he will be vying for the seat as an independent candidate ,Muranga county senator Kembi Gitura has also announced that he intends to  seek re-election as an independent candidate come August 8th 2017.

This is after he was defeated  in the just concluded Jubilee party primaries by Irungu Kangata who is the member of parliament for Kiharu constituency who got the  Jubilee party ticket to vie for the senator position.

Gitura has also said he has officially quit as a member of Jubilee party. On Monday the other candidate who was seeking a ticket to vie for gubernatorial seat for Uasin Gishu county Ezekiel Bundotich also known as Buzeki announced that his name will be on the ballot as an independent  candidate after what he termed as unfair ruling by the Jubilee party dispute tribunal which decided to throw out his petition.

Bundotich has rubbished the victory of the incumbent governor Jackson Mandago saying it was not free and fair.He however said he will campaign  for president Kenyatta and his deputy in the coming general elections.
