KORIR JUMA,CORRESPONDENT,KISUMU,2ND MAY 2017-Migori governor aspirants ACHILO AYAKO  has resigned from the Orange democratic movement party ODM after protesting the move by the party’s appeals tribunal to award the incumbent Okoth Obado nomination certificate from the just concluded  nominations. His decision comes hours after the national Election board chair Judy pareno declared that governor  Obado had been  given nomination certificate.

Achilo who has addressed the press  in Kisumu Tuesday afternoon has said the move to a ward  Obado certificate was misguided and goes against the will of the people of Migori county.”The decision by the appeals tribunal was lii intended  and in bad faith” said Ayako.

Ayako wondered what criteria had been used to arrive at the conclusion to award the certificate to governor Obado bearing in mind that initially the same tribunal had declared  that both certificates awarded by respective returning officers after nomination were null and void.He further blamed the ODM party for using using board room  meetings to award the certificate to governor Ayako.

He says he has spend  a lot of time building the party while Obado joined the party on 17TH March 2017 and the the decision by the party to overlook him and all the contribution he has made in the party was a big surprise to team ACHILO.To give people of Migori county  equal opportunity to elect their governor Achilo says he will god it alone as an independent candidate in the August 8 polls.

He has expressed confidence that he will emerge victorious
