Renewed banditry attacks in Kapedo leaves five dead

BY KORIR JUMA,30TH APRIL 2017-Tension remain high in Baringo county after five people were on Saturday, April 29 night killed by suspected bandits in Kapedo area at the boarder of Baringo and Turkana counties in fresh rivalry between the Turkana and Pokot communities in the region.

According to residents, the attack was a retaliatory to an earlier one which saw one person killed and unknown number of livestock stolen in Lokori area on Friday, April 28.

The injured were rushed to the Chemolingot Hospital while the deceased’s bodies were removed to Kabarnet Hospital Mortuary.

One middle-aged woman is currently nursing gunshot injuries at the Baringo County Referral Hospital.

Tension remains high in the area even as KDF servicemen continue with the operation to flush out bandits in the area that was gazetted as a security zone.
