BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,27TH APRIL 2017- Several former political bigwings who have been in the cold for the past five years can now afford a mile after they got a chance to try their luck back to Parliament courtesy of the Jubilee party primaries.This follows their surprise victories across the country.
They include Former Kipipiri Member of Parliament Amos Kimunya, he of the “I would rather die than resign” tag when he was accused of graft as Finance Minister.
Kimunya later resigned over suspicion of corruption in the sale of the Laico Regency.
He was accused of having undervalued the hotel when it was sold by the government to a Libyan firm.
Kimunya will be vying under the Jubilee Party in Kipipiri after trouncing incumbent MP Samwel Gichigi.
Others include Anglo Leasing whistle blower Maoka Maore who beat the incumbent MP Joseph M’Eruaki to clinch the Igembe North MP ticket and former Mt Elgon MP Fred Kapondi who will be seeking to recapture the seat under the Jubilee Party.
Former Naivasha MP Jane Kihara has also taken the Jubilee ticket as well as Joshua Kutuny who trounced incumbent Cherangany MP Wesley Korir.
Francis Kimemia former powerful head of public service has also clinched the Nyandarua Gubernatorial nomination on a Jubilee Party ticket.
