Jubilee calls off its primaries entirely,new date to be announced later

BY NAMULONGO PETER/KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,21ST APRIL 2017-After having witnessed the  many cases of  violence in the Jubilee party primaries in the 21 counties across the country the party Secretariat has announced that the entire exercise has been canceled.Making the announcement at the party headquarters in Nairobi Friday 21`ST evening Jubilee party secretary general Raphael Tuju has regretted the decision taken by the party management but says it was the best decision to be arrived at.

The party had planned to hold its nominations across the 21 counties Friday and the remaining counties were scheduled for Tuesday next week.90 percent of the stations were the the party  had attempted to hold the exercise witnessed violence and destruction of properties after various aspirants disagreed over several aspects of the exercise.

There was also cases of interference with the elections materials with several people been arrested after they were court staffing ballot papers in various parts of the country.  Most pooling stations also started their exercise of voting late after ballot papers and other important material were late to be delivered  and distributed to   polling stations ready for the excise.

Tuju says the party will set a new date for the entire exercise in due course.He however remained mum on when exactly the new date should be expected.
