Governor Nyagarama declared winner in ODM nominations,Mruttu leads in Taita Taveta

Nyamira governor John Nygarama he will defend his seat after he emerged victorious in ODM nominations held Tuesday 19TH April 2017.

BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,19TH APRIL 2017-Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama will now vie for the gubernatorial seat in the county the second time when the elections are held on  August 8th  on an ODM ticket.This folllows his victory in the nominations held on Tuesday by the party.Nyagarama  garnered a total of  17487  while his closest rival Member of parliament  James Gesami  got  12126 votes.

Nyagarama has  also denied allegations of  rigging of the votes  in the exercise  and called upon  those who lost to support him  and improve the Orange democratic movement party.

Meanwhile Taita Taveta  county governor John Mruttu is leading  in the nominations held Tuesday according to the latest results from the county.Mruttu  is a head  with  5110 votes  followed by his rival  Thomas Mwadeghu  who has  managed  1148 votes so far.

In the women rep contest  Anastacia Wakesho  is leading  with  4310  while another contender Anisa Mwakio  has  1121 votes. In transNzoia Caleb Hamisi  has been declared winner  of the ODM nominations  in  Saboti constituency  in   Transnzoia  county after garnering a total of   8000 votes. His main rival  Robert Makoma got  1470  votes.
