Governor John Mruttu to appeal nominations results after he lost to Thomas Mwadegu

BY NAMULONGO PETER/CORRESPONDENT, 19TH APRIL 2017-The  Taita Taveta county  governor John Mruttu has decided to appeal the results of the ODM  party nominations held Tuesday after he  lost  to Wundanyi MP Thomas Mwadeghu .The Wundanyi lawmaker  garnered 18, 421 votes against Mruttu’s 15,911
 Mruttu is the first sitting ODM governor to lose nominations ahead of the August 2017 General Elections.
Mwadeghu is also the minority whip in the National Assembly and the ODM party chief whip.
Mruttu says he will appeal the results before ODM elections board.He termed  the  results unfair and true,adding that they don’t  represent the will of the people.
