BY JOHN WERU/CORRESPONDENT,KISUMU 18TH APRIL 2017-President Uhuru Kenyatta received a warm welcome by residents when he arrived for his tour in Kisumu county on Tuesday, April 18.
Thousands of residents lined up the road from the airport to the Kisumu State Lodge to greet him – Ahead of his visit, Uhuru outlined some of the good things he has done for Luo Nyanza counties’
The president’s tour of the county perceived to be predominantly an opposition stronghold is seen as aimed at getting rare support from the county where NASA co principal Raila Odinga is the master of the days politics .Thousands of Kisumu residents who lined up the road from the Kisumu airport to the Kisumu State Lodge to acknowledge greetings from president Kenyatta perhaps an indication that they recognize him as the head of state and he is welcome to visit their county and any other place in Kenya.

The head of state is in Kisumu county where he will host winners of the 58th edition of the national drama festivals at the Kisumu State Lodge. Uhuru who was welcomed with Kisumu County Governor Jack Ranguma addressed residents urging them to embrace unity and peace and shun leaders who thrive on divisive politics.
