By PSCU/KORIR JUMA,8TH APRIL 2017-President Uhuru Kenyatta has accused the opposition of ignoring and always criticizing  the jubilee  government  development agenda  and not  providing  alternative leadership.

Speaking while on a tour of Wajir County to woo locals support his re-election bid the head of state denied claims by the opposition that his government was marginalizing Muslims terming such sentiments empty propaganda.

With Wajir county Mps having defected to the Jubilee party early last month, the President was touring the county perhaps more energized.

First order of business was to open the Wajir County Jubilee party office. The head of state would later proceed to the Wajir open grounds to a grand reception by area residents. While the tour was largely on development issues, political undertones dominated the public gathering.

President Kenyatta was officially receiving the defectors from the opposition with Abdikadir Ore of Wajir west and Governor Ahmed Abdullahi new running mate being the new notable defectors.

President Kenyatta’s clarion call was for Wajir county residents to support his re-election bid as he further his development agenda in the county.

Wajir County was the host of a NASA meeting last weekend where the opposition outfit accused the president and his administration of perpetuating marginalization in northern Kenya through extrajudicial killings and failing to implement the truth justice and Reconciliation commission report. President Kenyatta however defended his administration asserting that the Muslim community had greatly benefited during his four years reign.

He poked holes on the opposition terming it an outfit only keen on ascending to power while ignoring the plight of Kenyans.

In an interesting departure from a combative team that has always insisted that they will only support jubilee candidates , President Kenyatta and his deputy expressed support for the new party of democracy and restoration(PDR) which will be a Jubilee affiliate party.

The president announced the allocation of 4.5 billion shillings towards the construction of  Basir-Tula Roba road and the construction of Ade Masajida bridge.

The Wajir airport will also be rehabilitated while the government also plans to construct an Airstrip at Eldas.

Residents of wajir will also be connected to the national grid as the government seeks to boost electrification in the county.
