BY UPESINEWS SPORTS REPORTER,NAIROBI,27TH MARCH 2017-Harambee Stars head coach Stanley Okumbi   has expressed his optimism with the team  especially  after  putting up a spirited fight against DR Congo and he says  their win is vital  ahead of the AFCON qualifiers.

Stars managed to overcome the Leopards at the Machakos Stadium with 2-1 win and all the goals were scored by Michael Olunga.

The win saw Kenya who had previously beaten Congo in Kinshasa, complete a double over Florent Ibenge coached side.

The coach admitted that the match was one of the toughest and he is happy that the players gave all they could to emerge victorius.

The win was important especially considering that in the next three months we will be playing AFCON qualifiers.

The coach is an impressed man  that his side scored twice despite creating less clear cut chances. He revealed that his plan was to push the Congolose into making long balls that would see the game go either way.
