BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI,27TH MARCH 2017-Kenya Defence Forces have reported that its soldiers have killed 31 Al Shabaab terrorists in air strikes conducted on Sunday deep inside Somalia.
The raids were carried out at two command and logistics bases in Baadhade district in Jubaland.
Joseph Owuoch of KDF’s Public Affairs Unit says the intelligence-led operation was executed by air and ground assets.
Two Al-Shabaab vehicles were destroyed during the operation that also seized firearms and 4 Improvised Explosive Devices.
Also recovered according to Owuoch include, “foodstuff, communication equipment, several uniforms, a roll of detonating cable and 634 rounds of assorted ammunition.”
The terrorist continues to suffer a major setback as the campaign to free Somalia from their grip intensifies.
Early this month, KDF soldiers killed 57 Al-Shabaab militants during an operation in Subow Centre near Afmadow region.
