Maina Njenga,He has since left Jubilee party for KANU/FILE
BY EURIDICE NZIOKA,NAIROBI,22ND MARCH 2017-After turbulent moments trying to settle in the Jubilee party the former Munguki leader Maina Njenga has now found new home in Kenya Africa National union Party KANU.Njenga was received at the party’s Headquater in Nairobi on Wenesday by the party’s secretary general Nick Salat and the chairman Gideon Moi.The two leaders assured him of the entire party’s support and said the move will strengthen the party more and contribute to its aspiration of ensuring that it fields aspirants in all slots in the forthcoming general elections.Moi said the party will firmly stand behind president Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election for a second term.
On his party Maina Njenga said he had no ill feelings towards The Jubilee party even though he admitted having been frustrated when he was looking for nomination to via for the Laikipia senatorial sit in the Au general elections.He also said he will back president Kenyatta as he seeks the second tern in office.
This comes even after the court directed JUBILEE PARTY to accept Maina Njenga’s nomination papers, tribunal wants Former Mungiki leader to comply with party’s constitution.
Meanwhile lawyer Gitobu Imanyara has defected to the Maendeleo Chap Chap party led by Machakos County Governor Dr Alfred Mutua. Imanyara who has been a member of the Orange democratic Movement will now vie for the North Imenti parliamentary sit on the Maendeleo Chap Chap ticket.
Speaking while he received him at the party’s head office in Lavingtone Nairobi Maendeleo Chap Chap leader Dr Alfred Mutua says the party is in a better position to enable any politician nature his or her political dreams and achieve their ambitions.
