BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,9TH MARCH 2017-The newly sworn inn Nyeri Governor Samuel Wamathai has decided to retain the Cabinet he inherited from the immediate former governor of the county , the late Nderitu Gachagua.
County Secretary Alice Wachira, who was initially working in acting capacity, was among ministers sworn in on Thursday morning in a ceremony presided over by Senior Counsel Wahome Gikonyo.

Governor Wamathai said the move was in accordance with advisory from Attorney-General Githu Muigai.
-Erastus Karanja Muriuki was sworn-in as the Secretary in charge of Education and will also act in the Trade and Investment docket, while Lucy Mugure Wanyitu retook oath to head department of Youth and Sports.
She will also act as the head of the Roads and Infrastructure MINISTRY .
On the same wavelength ,Robert Thuo will continue heading Agriculture, Timothy Ngunyangi (Water and Environment), Stanley Miano (Tourism) while Charles Githua will be in charge of Health and act as the Finance minister.
Mr Wamathai however said the Committee was not complete, adding that he was in the process of filling the three vacant positions which emerged after dismissal of their respective holders who were linked to corruption.
